The Guardian (scarf)

This black-on-black scarf by visual artist and filmmaker Y. David Chung takes on traditional Korean themes with a contemporary spin. In place of peonies and clouds, which symbolize prosperity and longevity, Chung inserts his own imagery: drawings of a car, a duck, garlic, a molotov cocktail, and a turtle ship (utilized in naval battles against Japan in 1592). Each is encased within an octagonal vignette.
